Great things to do in Byron Bay & Surrounds..

Here’s the place to find all your entertainment & holiday needs.

All year round- 24/7, chosen by the local’s.

Byron Bay

As a 1 hour flight from Sydney, Byron Bay is one of the most magical hotspots in the world. Where else can you get several pristine beaches, great bars and restaurants, international standard arts and music festivals, hinterland retreats, funky venues and stay in either 1 to 5 star coastal or hinterland accommodation.

Byron has stunning white beaches and renowned surfing spots where the whales and dolphins pass daily. Minutes away it also boasts a subtropical hinterland & magical rain forests.

Byron Bay is a melting pot of surf culture, alternative philosophies and hedonistic indulgence. The laid-back towns of Ballina, Lennox Head and Brunswick Heads, plus the chic & hippy villages of Bangalow and Mullumbimby, combine the casual vibe of coastal retreats with a touch of city beach style.

Everything you could imagine can be done here in this small action packed town of byron bay. Be it  that you’re back packing through or looking for 5 star or family getaway... it’s all here.

Bangalow

The uber chic and tres twee one strip village of Bangalow is the little gem of the Byron Hinterland in it’s sweet english quaintness, style and old world manner.

This small village is jam packed with very chic,  high end  couture filled shops, homeware houses, city styled eateries  and great coffee shops.

One the finest sunday markets is behind the school at the end of every month and Bangalow also has  a great  farmers ‘fresh local produce’ market every Saturday behind the famous Bangalow Pub.

Perfect for a lazy weekend feast and  wander to gaze at the many real estate windows  offering you a piece of this exquisite Hinterland life... if you can afford it!

Mullumbimby

The biggest little town in Australia. Home to the Civic Arts Centre and large hippie community- there’s always plenty happening here...unexpected or planned.

Be it fire dancing, theatre, circus or gigs at the local Middle Bar, having a feast on fresh organic food, stocking up on lotions and potions made on site for all that ails you, you will find this town a hoot.

Wander the 3 main streets and their laneway’s to discover some out there treasures then make sure you try the locals favourite, Ponciana’s Cafe, under the huge tree filled  courtyard, that offers great jamming local muso's and an LSD hot beverage ( Latte, Soy, Dandilion that is)

Brunswick Heads

Sleepy yet chic, vibey and fun for families. Perfect, quiet beach for young families to laze about on and maybe have a bbq or cross the bridge to the famous sandstone pub and huge beer garden, for a great feed whilst listening to an always entertaining pop rock band. Many a great new city style cafe now exists here and loads of high style coastal and retro bric a brac stores worth investigating.

Lennox Head

A quaint seaside village at the southern end of Seven Mile Beach between Ballina and Byron Bay.

With a population of only about 2000, it’s a quiet, coastal village that attracts visitors who love to relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the area.

Lennox market on the 3rd and 5th Sunday of the month, is a little more unusual and eclectic than the others in the area and definately worth a wander down its strip at the end of the beach. A really well set up caravan park exists right opposite the surf club and offers plenty of natural entertainment for all ages, be it surfing, fishing or taking a treatment swim in the famous Tee Tree Lake across the road.

Surfers know the beach well for its internationally famous right-hand point break, and many make the pilgrimage to surf the local waves. Walk the seven miles of pristine beach at Seven Mile Beach or watch the hang-gliders take off from Pat Morton Lookout.

From May to October, Lennox Head is an excellent spot to watch the migratory humpback whales pass close to shore. History When the Europeans arrived in the area, about 5,000 members of the Bundjalung tribe – the original inhabitants of the area – lived there. In the 1860s the area attracted the interest of the European settlers. James Ainsworth was the first to take up land in the area behind Seven Mile Beach. Timber cutters and farmers settled in the district in 1865, and soon after dairy farms and sugar cane plantations were established.
